**Job summary** As an Informatics and Finance Analyst, you will undertake analyses, interpretation and presentation of Laboratory and public health data to provide intelligence to meet the needs of local and national stakeholders. You will lead the delivery of financialactivities associated with the income and expenditure of the department including the development of contracts, invoicing and ongoing monitoring. You will work on a wide range of public health and diagnostic priority topics driven by the needs of internalUKHSA colleagues and external stakeholders.

The IT department, within the MMMP, supports multiple laboratories including Virology, Microbiology and specialist UKHSA laboratories at the Oxford Road Campus, Manchester Royal Infirmary. The department embraces all aspects of modern IT systems and combinesthem with specialist laboratory systems and pathways. The department works very closely with local Trust IT teams and UKHSA colleagues on a national level.

**Job description Job responsibilities**:

- As the Senior Laboratory Informatics and Finance Analyst your main responsibilities will include:

- Liaises with scientific, managerial, finance and medical staff at all levels from both collaborating partners (MFT/UKHSA)
- Members of the Health Protection Teams (HPT), UKHSA surveillance teams and Field Epidemiology Specialists (FES)
- Collating and supporting departmental leads with appropriate information for departmental meetings.
- Supporting the local Manchester Microbiology Medical Partnership with requests for information
- Liaises with finance colleagues from other Trusts and organisations with whom contracts are held.
- Colleagues within NHS England and Local Commissioning Groups
- Liaises with procurement/contract leads.
- Liaises with local Trust IT teams.
- System and middleware providers and support teams

**Experience Essential**:

- Experience in the use of statistical and epidemiological methods for analysing data sets
- Experience of working with multiple sets of health-related data and information systems in health related organisations
- Ability to create and deliver oral presentations, drawing on complex health intelligence, to a varied group of internal and external stakeholders

**Desirable**:

- Understanding of the development, use and interpretation of laboratory metrics to support public health and the NHS
- Knowledge of surveillance systems and experience of the surveillance of disease
