If so, opportunities have arisen for an Inventory and Business Manager to join us at DE&S in Defence Munitions.
Our Defence Munitions staff work closely with our Delivery Teams and front-line commands to ensure our troops have the right equipment at the right time. We work as an important element of the wider MoD, supporting and supplying our troops with a wide range of munitions.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated manager, who likes a challenge, to develop skills in a role primarily engaged in materiel accounting management, stocktaking and workforce planning in our iLog (Integrated Logistics) function.
Helping to achieve business objectives and continue improving our performance, you will be a confident and forward-thinking individual, with strong analytical, communication, organisational and coaching skills with a high attention to detail.
This is a varied post within a demanding environment, allowing you the opportunity to collaborate with customers and engage in activities to ensure the accuracy of inventory systems, to enable demands to be met.
**Responsibilities**:
Responsibilities of the post include:
- Liaising with stakeholders, you will be accountable for the management and accuracy of materiel accounting transactions
- Managing the Stocktaking Plan and conducting investigations on discrepancies, to reconcile and adjust the account
- Analysing performance against stocktaking key performance indicators and suggesting routes for improvement
- Identifying continuous improvement initiatives to deliver efficiencies
- Delivering a high-quality service, collaborating with others to deliver positive outcomes
- Creating/maintaining spreadsheets to enable stocktake planning, training schedules and financial registers
- Co-ordination of workforce planning data and recruitment
- Maintaining and analysing financial data
- Maintaining the Training Database
- Administering procurement activity and travel booking
- Managing a small team of three individuals
**What you will be assessed against**
- Experience of working in a stocktake management environment
- Experience in the development of policies and processes
- Demonstrable customer focus and stakeholder engagement skills at all levels, internal and external
- Ability to analyse financial and numerical data, with a good logical approach to problem solving
- Ability to make decisions, often in the face of multiple competing priorities
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Some experience of people management

**About your team**
The Integrated Logistics (iLog) Function is the integrating Function for Support within DE&S, responsible for the development, management and delivery of in-service support for our front-line command customers. The iLog Function consists of around 2,900 personnel, both civil servants and military, and with a wide range of disciplines ranging from operations management and supply chain management, technical through-life support and logistics delivery, to modelling and analysis.
