Set up the rooms when your first arrive.
- Check/carry out risk assessment.
- Know the number of children and that staff ratios to children are correct.
- Set up activities that are engaging and inviting for children in line with the planning.
- Report to manager if an issue arises.

Meet the needs of all children.
- Understand your key children and know where they are developmentally and know the areas of support needed.
- Teach children to be independent learners showing children how to learn from activities and each other.
- Keep children clean and encourage self-care filling out nappy, sleep and daily info sheet.
- Any concerns must be logged and passed onto manager/deputy manager.
- If appropriate some children may need targeted learning plans and support from outside agencies
- Change the environment regularly to ignite children’s imaginations.
- Be observant and make sure all children are involved and engaged.
- Follow the daily routine to ensure that all children make the most of their day.
- Follow children’s interests ask at circle time ‘what they would like to do today?’
- Check the planning for the activities that relate to your children’s next steps and make sure these are carried out.
- Plan developmentally appropriate, challenging, and engaging adult led activities.
- Ensure Key person time is carried out in small groups and is planned, documented in circle time books.
- Reflect on planned activities, how could we have done it better.

Children’s learning journeys
- Carry out at regular observations and learning journeys.
- Link observations to EYFS and use development matters to track progress.
- Make sure the children’s files are a mix of children’s work, photos and observations.
- Obtain contributions from parents especially those that are hard to reach. Ask them about their child’s interests and anything that we can help with for example potty training, new foods, write their name.
- Complete termly reports, 2-year-old checks and transition to school documents.

Parental involvement
- Good daily communication with parents through Connect and contact at handover.
- Regularly Involve parents in children’s learning and development asking to share moments from home, updating monthly ‘we are learning to’ boards with activities to extend their learning at home.

Personal development
- Please make sure that you are continually developing your own professional practice, reflect on how you can improve, what went well and share good practise.
- Carry out peer Observations monthly on each other to share good practise.
- Research online through Pinterest, Nursery World, online training. Look at magazines and reference books that are in the staff room during your lunch break.
- Professional qualifications, ask managers about training in areas that you need support.

Teamwork
- Support new staff.
- Carry out observations on every child feeding back to key person.
- Plan activities for the whole room.

**Salary**: £10.62 per hour

- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

- Nursery: 2 years (preferred)

- Management: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (preferred)
