Our client is looking for a Trainee Accountant for a permanent position, located in Aberdeen.

**Role**

The role will be responsible for the accuracy of the profit and loss general ledgers ensuring the information is reconciled, analysed and accurate by working closely with the budget holders to produce timely and meaningful information. The role will include assisting the Financial Accountant in the preparation of month end accruals and reforecasting and issuing weekly budget v actual reports and discussing with stakeholders.

The role will also include assisting with the weekly stock count process and reporting of results. Maintaining accurate records of count results and schedule along with any other ad-hoc projects or tasks as assigned by the Finance Manager.

**Responsibilities**
- Weekly reconciliation of all P&L nominal codes.
- Analysis of all P&L costs to ensure accurately coded.
- Liaising with other departments to ensure accuracy of P&L Costs
- Weekly issue of Actual v Budget positions to key budget holders.
- Maintaining P&L Reports to a high standard.
- Assist with the preparation of month accruals/deferrals.
- Prepare annual P&L Budget.
- Assist with external Audit, Tax and Patent work.
- Input of weekly stock cycle count
- Issue of weekly stock schedule and KPI Dashboard.
- Ensuring count schedule is in line with Policy
- Provide holiday cover for all roles to support the accounting function.

**Requirements**:
**Qualifications**

Required:

- HND in Accounts/Finance or similar (or working towards)
- Will consider qualified by experience.

**Experience**

Desirable:

- Previous experience in similar role
- Strong excel skills.

**Skills/Training**

Required:

- Attention to detail is critical.
- Willing to take on a varied role and has ability to multitask.
- Good working knowledge of Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be reliable with a conscientious and professional attitude.
- The ability to meet deadlines.
- Be willing to work as part of a team.
- Ability to represent the finance team in a professional manner.
- Confident speaking to stakeholders of all levels both internal and external to the company
- Able to use own initiative.
