Kenway Tyres is the largest tyre wholesaler in the North of Scotland. We supply to local garages, retailers and major car dealerships whilst also have retail depots in Aberdeen and Dundee. We have been a successful part of the local business community for 40 years and due to business growth we are looking to expand our existing team. We have an exciting new opportunity to train and learn in the position of Trainee Buyer. The role is responsible for ensuring that the stock levels are sustained, in line with customer demand, as well as identifying market trends. The Trainee Buyer will be responsible for placing orders from several suppliers, both domestic and international, via the most cost-effective method ensuring customer and business needs are met. Supporting the company operations as the primary buyer of goods and services, the team place and expedite orders, negotiate with suppliers to achieve the best possible price and value in a timely manner.
- Placing orders with suppliers, obtaining written confirmation that the order has been processed;
- Liaising with the Managing Director and other team members, providing support & guidance;
- Own and manage backorders appropriately, ensuring that delays and errors are kept to a minimum;
- Identifying and resolving challenges or issues with orders, goods-in and invoice queries are managed and dealt with effectively and in a collaborative manner with the Accounts Payable team;
- Ensuring product portfolio and supplier information is accurate and kept up to date, including code maintenance;
- Assisting the sales team with product and price enquiries to ensure customer requirements are clearly specified, stated and met;
- Tracking and reporting progress of orders and relaying information to the sales and stores teams in which notes are clearly recorded;
- Ad hoc data analysis, as required.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £20,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
