We are looking for an animal loving person to work full-time (40 hours per week) from December to June 2023.

Work days will include one weekend day every week, plus four weekdays.

Hours are 8am to 5pm - 1 hour for lunch.
You will be paid 8 hours a day.

This is a great opportunity to work with animals in an animal rescue environment.

OAS cares for and rehomes around 500 animals a year.

You will be responsible for looking after the daily welfare of cats and rabbits. Some days you might work with just one species, and on other days you might work with both on the same day, depending on the rota schedule.

Duties include cleaning rooms and enclosures, feeding, medicating and enrichment. You will also assist in rabbit bonding and will meet potential adopters.

You will need to be comfortable around cats and rabbits and not have allergies to working with animals.

You must be competent at taking instructions and performing tasks set for you in a timely and efficient manner.

This is a physically demanding job. You will be doing lots of manual work and you will be on your feet for most of the day and must be comfortable working outside, in all kinds of weather (if working with rabbits). You must have good communication skills and be able to speak to colleagues, visiting professionals and members of the public in a polite manner.

You must be hard-working, enthusiastic, have lots of energy and be a team player.

This posistion is temporary but it's possible that it could become full-time in the future.
