**Overall Purpose of the role**
As a café assistant, you will be responsible for providing an excellent service to all our customers in our on-site café/ bar.

This role will be responsible for the full hospitality service, including preparing food to be served on and off the site, serving drinks to customers and ensuring high standards of appearance and cleanliness are always maintained in the kitchen and/ or café.

As the café serves alcohol, you will be required to sell alcohol to customers in this role.

Although preparing food is part of this role, you will not be required to have any previous kitchen/ cooking experience.

Our aim is to exceed our guests’ expectations throughout their stay and their experience in our on-site café and the quality of the service they receive is a key component in enabling us to achieve this aim.
**Main Responsibilities and duties**
- To be responsible for opening and setting up the café
- To stock up the café in the mornings for the upcoming day, and the evenings for the following day as required
- To prepare and serve food to customers for consumption on & off the premises (all food is pre-cooked so only requires heating, no cooking skills required)
- To prepare drinks (hot and cold, including alcohol) for consumption on the premises
- To take customers' food and beverage orders at counter and providing table service
- To operate cash registers and take payments for orders from customers including being able to handle cash
- To clear away used dishes and cutlery from tables when customers have finished eating and/ or drinking
- To clean and prepare tables for use
- To load and unload the dishwasher
- To understand and complying with all relevant Health & Safety and Hygiene requirements
- To close down the café at the end of shift, ensuring all relevant closing checks have taken place as required

**Person Specification**
**Essential**
- Ability to role model the behaviours of Ben Nevis Holiday Park
- Is able understand and promote the vision and values of Ben Nevis Holiday Park
- Ability to communicate effectively with all team members including managers, supervisors, and colleagues as well as customers
- Can work as part of a high performing team
- An ability to work under pressure
- Can promote and sell products and services well
- An ability to work as part of a team but also able to work independently

**Desirable**:

- Can be flexible to support requirements of the park throughout peaks during the year
- Previous experience of working in a café/ bar, though this is not essential
- Previous experience of working for a holiday park

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 10 - 40 per week

**Salary**: £10.00 per hour
