An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic individual to join the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Team on an 18 month secondment.

The Gwent Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLs) Team is an independent safeguarding team commissioned by the Supervisory Bodies of the Five Gwent Local Authorities and Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. The team is based within Anuerin Bevan University Health Board and located at Mamhilad House Mamhilad Park Estate, Pontypool.

The Deprivation of Liberties Safeguards Team supports the Supervisory Bodies to meet their statutory obligations under Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (2009) (DoLS) by co-ordinating, undertaking Best Interests Assessments, completing reports for submission to the Supervisory Body when a request for an authorisations for a Deprivation of Liberty is requested by a Managing Authority (Hospitals and Care Homes).

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

The Team work specifically with people who lack capacity to consent to the arrangements made for their care or treatment, who require assessment to determine if their circumstances amount to a deprivation of liberty to protect them from harm and is deemed to be in their Best Interests.
