We work with teams across City Hall, delivering research on important issues such as the cost of living crisis and the climate emergency. We do this using a range of research methods, including focus groups, digital ethnography, and polling.

We’re looking for an experienced qualitative researcher to join the team. You’ll deliver qualitative research to understand the views, experiences, and behaviours of Londoners and stakeholders. It will involve working with policy officers and external research agencies to design, deliver, and commission new research. The role will include:

- Working with colleagues across the GLA, including policy teams and the Mayor’s Office, to identify and develop new research and engagement requirements.
- Communicating engaging, accessible, and actionable research findings to internal and external stakeholders, through written reports and presentations.
- Promoting qualitative research across the GLA, by sharing findings and learnings, and providing advice and expertise to colleagues.

- Experience managing or commissioning social or market research projects, with demonstrable skills in project management.
- A creative and innovative approach to engaging participants or communities to inform policy or decision making.
- A good understanding of quantitative surveys, with experience combining survey data with qualitative insights.

Although the role focusses on qualitative research, there’ll be opportunities to lead on quantitative surveys. Experience writing and analysing surveys will be an advantage, but we’ll consider those who are happy to develop in this area.
