**Stock Control Supervisor Import supply chain**

**The Role**

Our client is a well established and successful import and distributor of homeware products and are now looking to recruit an experienced **Inbound Stock Control Supervisor** reporting to the Warehouse Manager and will **supervise inventory control operations according to established policies**. To manage a small team to plan and prepare all aspects of **inventory managemen**t from bi-annual stock takes to continuous PI’s, bin management and quarantined and misplaced stock. To oversee inbound delivery documentation and putaway procedures to ensure accurate records ensuring safe working procedures are followed throughout. To become part of the stakeholder team for the implementation of a new WMS.

**Operational Tasks and Responsibilities**
- Ensure full knowledge and understanding of all operational stock procedures.
- Support the design, implementation and promotion of processes that produce error free outputs.
- Maintain data that enables the development and maintenance of Key Performance Indicators.
- Take ownership of issues that affect the warehouse processes yet have not been recognised by others.
- Maintain a complete and orderly listing of all item codes. Assign the company item code to stock keeping unit (SKU) and update the item master maintenance file within the ERP system.
- Cascade to the warehouse teams and relevant stakeholders, any modifications to the inventory master file and trigger any actions requiring an update to existing standard operating procedures and business processes to align with the change.
- Plan and prepare the full year inventory calendar, including Stock Take and PI counts throughout the year, directly supervise the conduct of the inventory activities.
- Ensure that all procedures and processes are adhered to by yourself and operatives within your operational environment.
- Develop an understanding of the whole operational process and provide cover for other operational areas as required.
- Handle the swift and accurate reconciliation and resolution of inventory variances, make recommendations for preventive and corrective actions.
- Guide warehouse operations on the physical segregation and proper labelling of quarantined stock to avoid contamination and mix-ups.
- Put in place adequate controls and measures to ensure compliance to the FIFO (First in first out) for product quality.
- Prepare and manage inventory ageing report to flag the company’s risk of damage to product quality.
- Format excess stock lists from the Merchandising Manager to include location details and pass to the Highbay Controller for picking.
- Develop relationships with Internal departments and external vendors and suppliers.
- Work to understand customer needs and how to meet them.
- Design strategies to minimise the cost or time required to move goods.
- Review the success of logical functions and identify areas for improvement.
- Carry out training needs and identify coaching needs within the team.
- Ensure that holidays and absences are managed throughout the department.

- Knowledge and experience in warehousing Health and Safety.
- Knowledge of **VNA and HLOP trucks an advantage**.
