We'd like you to join us as a **Maintenance Assistant** at our service **Buttons** in **Wiltshire **(Swindon).

At **Buttons**, we provide residential supported living care to children with severe physical or learning disabilities, including autism. Supported by a highly trained staff team, the children are encouraged to strive for independence, however that looks for them as an individual.

Buttons is a 5 bedded home providing residential and respite care for children and young people with learning disabilities. They may have severe learning disabilities including physical disabilities, complex health care needs, medication, dependency and challenging behaviour. All staff will be involved directly in the physical and emotional care of children and young people and work in partnership with families and other agencies involved.

RCCW will provide support to the Seniors and Managers in taking extra responsibility to maintain and develop documentation required by the registered manager. You will also be required to maintain good staff morale and the promotion of high standards of care and support.

**What you'll be working**:

- Part time: 10 Hrs per week
- Monday to Friday
- Driving licence is essential.

**What you'll be doing**:

- To provide maintenance and upkeep of the buildings including painting and decorating, repairs to fixtures and fittings and furniture, routine testing of the security and Fire Detection and completion of PPM books.
- The recording of all data associated with Estates Operations IAW the FSHC Estates manual.
- Maintenance of all grounds and lawns using the plant and equipment supplied and the care and maintenance of all specialist Estates equipment.
- The cleaning and general maintenance of the Buttons vehicle and ensuring that specialist maintenance is carried out at the required intervals.
- Monitoring and handling of all waste and ensuring compliance with waste regulations.
- Stock and storage of all equipment and maintenance and cleanliness of all storage areas.

**Key Accountabilities**:
Maintenance and upkeep of the building.

Repairs to fixtures fittings and furniture.

routine testing of the security and Fire Detection Equipment.

Routine testing of the Emergency Lighting and Fire Exits.

Monitoring of gas and electricity systems, water systems and sewage systems.

Safety inspections on electrical equipment and maintaining inventory records.

Maintenance of all roads and pathways.

snow and ice clearance and prevention.

Maintenance of all grounds and lawns.

Care and maintenance of all specialist Estates equipment.

Cleaning and general maintenance of the vehicles.

Monitoring and control of all waste.

Storage of all equipment and maintenance of storage areas.
