Your role as a SRE associate, with a specialism in Infrastructure Engineering, in the Secure Development SRE Team is responsible for supporting BT to be in the best position to deliver the service performance, reliability and availability that internal and external customers expect.

This includes tools which manage network and IT security, Physical Security and compliance, automated software delivery and software discovery; as well as several other IT estate management functions.

**There will be on call work as part of this role**
What You'll Be Doing
- Assists in the delivery of technology development and solutions that provide business value and meet customer requirements, encouraging team’s use of innovative approaches and tools to solve problems.
- Assists with the implementation of monitoring tooling used to optimise systems for uptime, performance, and reliability, and robust monitoring and alerting systems.
- Writes routine tests that investigate how infrastructure handles failure and scaling.
- Assists in executing work in scaling systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation and evolves systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity.
- Assists the delivery of infrastructure as code software to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of services.
- Assists with the implementation of continuous integration/continuous delivery systems.

- Experience you’d be expected to have
Mandatory:

- Experience across a range of Programming Languages (e.g, Python, GoLang)
- Experience across a range of IT infrastructure disciplines (eg, networks, datacentre infrastructure, operating systems etc)
- Experience of Continuous Improvement

**Preferred**:

- Experience/Knowledge in one or more of the following:

- Application implementation / solution design
- IT security and compliance (e.g, Vulnerability Management, threat intelligence)
- Physical Security systems
- Big data (e.g, Cloudera, Elastic)
