- This is a prominent role that will see you maintaining and developing a strong second line of defence across our Financial & Strategic Risk function

**What you'll do**:
As a Capital Management Oversight Lead, you’ll be responsible for leading the second line oversight of compliance with capital requirement regulations and the business led capital management transactions in our NatWest Markets' Treasury function.

You’ll work closely with the NatWest Markets Treasury Capital Lead to develop and deliver a suite of risk metrics, making sure that these can effectively capture the capital risk and lead the drafting of a second line of defence risk opinion for all capital risk related deliverables. Additionally, we’ll look to you to make sure that risk information is presented and analysed to fulfil the essential control and risk management requirements for the business to operate.

As well as this, you’ll be:

- Providing effective risk oversight and challenge on business led capital management transactions and initiatives
- Providing oversight of the development and maintenance of a robust and effective control framework for first line capital management transactions
- Providing risk management expertise across the broad spectrum of key risk disciplines, including portfolio management and regulatory compliance
- Keeping up to date with the regulatory environment in which we operate and helping to assess or implement the changes in our capital risk management framework
- Maintaining, documenting and monitoring the organisation’s policies and approach for your area of risk
- Reviewing and challenging current risk methodologies and portfolio make up

**The skills you'll need**:
We’re looking for someone with extensive experience from within a capital management or treasury function in the first or second line of defence. You'll have had exposure to, and detailed knowledge of the trading book activities of the markets business. Knowledge of liquidity and funding risks would be beneficial.

You’ll also demonstrate:

- A good understanding of the capital management activities of an investment bank
- Detailed knowledge of trading and banking book RWA requirements, leverage, CET1, derivatives, ICAAP, recovery planning, trading wind down, and Bank of England regulatory stress tests
- Experience with the successful implementation of best practice of capital risk management principles
- Experience in maintaining compliance with the relevant capital risk related articles from the CRR, PRA rulebook, and associated PRA policy and supervisory statements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to lead, be that as a people manager or as a self-starter
