Your new role:
We are looking for an Education Access Team Leader to join the Access and Inclusion Team in a full time and fixed term contract
**until 31**
**st**
**August 2024**. This contract is within a friendly and well established team and is being offered on a hybrid work pattern which is a blend of working from home and out and about visiting schools, educational settings, and partners across Essex.

As an Education Access Team Leader, you will to oversee the statutory functions for delivery of all Council responsibilities, including:
**Education Access Team (Medical)**
- Development, implementation and maintain local policy and practice for EAT
- Overseeing and quality assuring the delivery of the EAT service, ensuring all children have access to a suitable full time education in accordance with health needs.
- To liaise with schools to ensure a clear understanding of the provision of EAT and the arrangements and expectations from both school, LA and other agencies.
- Develop and implement ways to gather feedback and co-production of policies and processes, e,g surveys, parent and child voice etc and ensure feedback directly influences service development
- To provide challenge and support to schools through written reports where appropriate.

**Alternative Provision (unregistered settings)**
- Through partnership working with alternative providers, lead on the quality assurance, risk assessment and oversight of suitable education provided through unregistered provision.,
- Ensuring that provisions are operating within the law and providing a safe environment for children.
- To have a clear understanding of legislation in regards to alternative provision and unregistered schools and to provide detailed reports of all quality assurance visits outlining any concerns for the safety and welfare of pupils or where provisions may be operating unlawfully and report all findings to the Inclusion Manager and Senior Leaders.

**Children Missing Education**:

- To lead on the implementation of relevant strategies, policy and practice linked to children accessing suitable, full-time education and ensure published information is kept up to date.
- To work in partnership with Education and Children’s Services Workforce to increase understanding, awareness, early identification and response for children missing education.
- To support the Inclusion Manager (and deputise where needed) for the operation and management of the children missing education management groups.
- Ensure the administrative tasks and data is kept up to date including feedback to schools and agencies.

What you'll need to succeed:
To be successful in this role, it is essential that you have a working knowledge of the Education Act, Children’s Act, Education (Pupil Registration) Regulations and other associated legislation. You will also need to have substantial experience of working with children, young people and families.

Knowledge of the current Ofsted framework associated with children missing education is essential to be successful in this post. This role would suit an individual who is resilient, able to work under pressure and have the capacity to respond to changing priorities. It is vital that you can build strong relationship and be able to engage, influence and drive collaboration with a variety of stakeholders to achieve results.

A full clean driving license will be advantageous for the post as the post holder will be required to be mobile and move around the City.
