We are recruiting for an Assistant Fire Safety Advisor to join the existing Fire Safety Team.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to support and influence the strategic direction of fire safety across the NHS estate in Wales. Aimed at enhancing NHS fire safety for the protection of some of the most vulnerable people in society, you will experience a wide and varied workload ranging from exploration and promotion of developing fire-related technologies and supporting legislative compliance to involvement in multi-million-pound hospital developments.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

The role supports the Principal Fire Safety Engineer and Fire Safety Advisor across a wide range of fire safety issues within the NHS estate and, in particular:

- implementation of Welsh Government (WG) directives, fire policy and related strategies.
- advise NHS Organisations on compliance with statutory legislation and mandatory requirements of Firecode and associated guidance.
- monitor NHS Organisations’ performance in respect of fire safety regimes.
- advise NHS Organisations on areas of improvement to safeguard the safety of patients, staff and the estate.
- engage with Health Boards and other stakeholders to advise on progression of public or privately funded development schemes in relation to fire.

A key aspect of the role will involve coordinating fire safety advice with other specialist advice, e.g within the context of business case development proposals. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
