The primary purpose of the post is ensuring the successful management of Wormley Community Centre. The post-holder will be responsible for implementing the current business plan, developing and managing the annual budget and maximising use of the facilitiesavailable. You will need to identify and build on new opportunities through effective marketing, networking and innovative solutions, ensuring that the community centre continues to develop into a thriving venue that meets the needs of the wide and variedcommunity.

The newly established charityBroxbourne Big Local (BBL)are in the very exciting position of having acquired Wormley Community Centre from the local council on a 999-year lease. Broxbourne Big Local, was set up byWormley and Turnford Big Local (WTBL)for thespecific purpose of taking on the lease and are part of the nationalBig Localinitiative. We have been working with appointed architects to develop a plan to extend the community centre in order that it can generate sufficient funds to become self-sustaining.We have contracted a fundraiser who is supporting us to seek further capital funds to put towards the development of the building and to meet staffing and other costs in running the centre and its activities that cannot be met from hire revenues.

**Skills and Abilities**
- Experience of managing community buildings and/or art centres
- Proven experience in the voluntary sector or community development
- A professional attitude and approach to the management of the centre
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Customer service skills
- Confident, self-motivated, innovative, and able to work under pressure
- Good leadership skills with the ability to develop and support others
- Able to prioritise work and demands
- Ability to be proactive and demonstrate initiative
- A strong commitment to community-based services
- Ability to network well on behalf of the charity and develop collaborative approaches.
- Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages, particularly Excel
- Understanding of financial budgets and their preparation
- Experience in Business or Project management
- Able to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends

?**Desirable**
- Ability to travel independently ideally with own transport.
- Knowledge of the community and geography of Wormley and Turnford
- Accounting knowledge; familiar with Xero, Stripe and online banking systems
