Camhs Community Mental Health Practitioner
6 months ago
In MPFT Children and Families Mental Health Function, we work with young people who have a wide range of needs in an inclusive way. Our model places our young people’s needs at the heart of what we offer to ensure that they are getting the best care possible. The Intensive Support Team offers: support and intervention for young people with high risk and complex mental health needs in an intensive time bound way. We recognise the children or young person's home or community environment as being an important part of their recovery, working to sustain the right community support, avoiding admission to hospital wherever possible
The Mental Health Practitioner is a diverse role. We are looking for professionals with a passion for working with our Children & Families, experience in this area is not essential (although beneficial) as you will have the opportunity to expand your skill set and to integrate with our core services, offering learning and development opportunities such as shadowing and specialist supervision and consultation from others working with CYP & Families.
The team are currently working towards offering support to CYP and families 8am-10pm, 7 days per week, and 365 days per year
We are therefore looking for full time and part time staff and can offer flexibility in working days/ hours to meet the needs of the service as well as offering greater work life balance for staff
Following extensive investment as part of National and Local Sustainability and Transformation planning, the CAMHS Intensive support team are expanding and transforming our current Intensive Outreach Team to develop a robust flexible Intensive Support Team, offering Community based Mental Health Intensive Support for our Children & Young People (CYP) and families in South Staffordshire within their localities ; with additional investment for the future to offer the addition of Crisis response and brief intervention to create a full Crisis Response and Intensive Support Service.
Working for MPFT
MPFT provides physical and mental health care, learning disability, and adult social care services across Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent, Shropshire, and Telford & Wrekin. In addition, we provide services on a wider regional and national basis. We serve a population of 1.5 million and
employ around 8,500 members of staff.
By joining MPFT you will become part of a diverse and inclusive team who are empowered and supported to deliver care in a way which is consistent with our values:
- putting people at the heart of what we do
- empowering people to improve care and wellbeing
- delivering better health, better care in partnership
We are embedding values based and inclusive recruitment practices to ensure that all applicants, from any backgrounds, from under-represented groups, such as black, Asian or other ethnic groups, individuals with a disability, or LGBTQ+ individuals. All have an equal chance of success in achieving a role with us.
We will support your career development and progression. Membership of the excellent NHS pension scheme, generous maternity, paternity, adoption leave, pay and the option for flexible working. You will receive up to 27 days annual leave (increasing to 33 days) and the opportunity to purchase additional annual leave.
We are also proud to have a choice of staff networks that help you meet like-minded people.
Please see attached job description and person specification for further information. Please feel free to contact the named Team Lead with any questions or queries.
