**Programme Officer**

**A well-established organisation based in Belfast, are currently seeking an experienced Programme Officer’s to join their team.**

This is a Full-time, Temporary Position - initially for 9-12 months (to start immediately)

Working hours: Monday to Friday (37 hours per week)

With an hourly rate of £16.74 per hour (equivalent to £32,328 per annum)

Ability to travel between sites will be required.

**Job Purpose**:
**Essential Criteria**:

- A minimum of 5 GCSEs grades A-C (including English Language and Maths) or equivalent **OR**A minimum of Leaving Certificate (Standard/Ordinary level) - 5 grades A-C (including English Language and Maths) or equivalent.
- Experience of contributing to the operational planning process within the public, private, voluntary or community sectors.
- Experience in Project Management, including establishing, monitoring and verification of outputs.
- Previous experience in drafting reports, working with, and understanding interpreting financial data.
- Demonstrable experience in review of non-financial information (reports etc.) and follow-up action as required.
- Good technical skills with previous experience in IT systems such as spreadsheets and databases.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload.
- Ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
- Flexibility and ability to travel between sites as required.

**Desirable Criteria**:

- A third level qualification.
- Experience in the operation of databases.
- Extensive Programme or Project Management experience.
- Project management training qualification.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Manage a portfolio of projects funded by the programmes, monitoring progress in implementation.
- Assist in the provision of a secretariat function to the steering committees.
- Assist in the development of programme procedures.
- Update programme procedures and guidance for project promoters as necessary.
- Draft contracts for projects.
- Ensure robust monitoring of project implementation including progress and verification of project outputs.
- Attend meetings, events and seminars to represent the business as requested.
- Develop a network of contacts within key stakeholders.
- Assist in implementation functions of current programmes.
- Drafting submissions, papers and reports on major themes/areas of discussion as directed.
- Preparing governance papers and reports for presentation.
- Visit and monitor projects on site and via an electronic management system.
- Oversee the work of Support Staff.
- Update staff and programme leaders on legislative changes and change and update procedural instructions accordingly.
- Ensure that all staff adheres to the legislative requirements of the Body and follow all policy issued by the Human Resources Department.
- Liaise with the Personnel Officer to co-ordinate the planning, arranging, and recording of training for staff.
