Barista

We are looking for a barista 18+ to join our team at The Nest. The position is part time and will be for one 9 hour shift one day in the week then a day at the weekend alternating each week from a Saturday to a Sunday.

There May be opportunities to do extra days to cover holidays.

**Duties**:

- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks
- Take customer orders and provide excellent customer service
- Operate cash register and handle cash transactions accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar area
- Follow health and safety guidelines for food handling and preparation
- Assist with food preparation, such as baking pastries, cooking toasted sandwiches
- Ensure that all drink orders are prepared to the highest quality standards
- Provide product recommendations and answer customer inquiries

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of basic math skills for cash handling and retail math calculations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling techniques is a plus

As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of beverages, taking customer orders, operating the cash register, and providing excellent customer service. Please note that this position may require standing for long periods of time and some lifting or carrying of supplies. The ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, is also required.
