**THE POST - Maintenance Assistant**

Campus Services (Ayr) have an exciting new opportunity for a Maintenance Assistant to join their growing team. The post holder will be expected to support Technicians, Facilities and Project Managers in the planning and delivery of work programmes which involve developing, maintaining, and repairing the university estate infrastructure, fixtures, fittings and equipment.

Undertake portable appliance testing to exceed health and safety requirements and any other duties required by the Campus Services Team.
- Educated to NVQ level 2 in building maintenance or equivalent trade/craftsperson related area.
- Knowledge and ability to carry out joinery, plumbing/drainage, painting and decorating, or maintenance works to the required standard.
- Knowledge and understanding of the needs of the customer within a Higher Education environment or similar.
- Ability to operate equipment/machinery safely and handle materials.
- Experience of providing a professional and customer focused planned preventive and reactive maintenance and repair service.
- Good communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to work on own or as part of a team.
