We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Healthcare Assistants to work on Heanor Ward.

Heanor Ward is currently an 16-bedded ward, of which our patients require assessment and rehabilitation in a nursing setting.

This includes supporting patients with both physical and mental health needs.

We also look after patients who are at the end of their life and this is something we are very passionate about.

We are looking for someone who will contribute and support the team to continually strive for the best for the patients in our care.

Experience of working in a care setting is an advantage alongside having an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.

It is important that you have a good standard of English and excellent communication skills.

This post involves shift work including days, nights, weekends and Bank Holidays.

You will be required to work as part of the team but also work on your own initiative.

Our purpose is to provide community health services to a patient population of over one million people in Derbyshire and Derby, as part of Joined Up Care Derbyshire.

We employ around 4,200 substantive staff, caring for patients in 11 community hospitals and more than 30 health centres, as well as in clinics, GP practices, schools, care homes and, increasingly, in people’s own homes and via virtual consultations.

During the pandemic response we have led the implementation of public vaccination centres in collaboration with partners across health and social care.

- Assist the trained nurse with the provision of a high standard of individualised patient care in partnership with other team
- Ensure that the correct procedures and treatment are carried out as prescribed by a qualified nurse to ensure safety and comfort of
- Inform qualified nurse of any problems
- Complete accurate records to ensure continuity of patient care
- Organise delegated work
- Involve the patient, carer and relative in aspects of service development/delivery. Consulting always with the public as appropriate.
- Participate in training
- Assist with audit and research
- Participate in Performance and Development
- Undertake other duties as may be required for maintenance of an effective and efficient patient experience
