Quality Assurance Hplc Technologist

**Average of 42 hours per week. 4 on 4 off (2x 07:00-19:00 2x 19:00-07:00 followed by 4 off)**
**Job Purpose**:
HPLC Technologists ensure company and customer quality standards are being met. They are responsible for all Quality Assurance issues regarding raw materials, manufacture and packaging of the product produced. They must ensure that all reasonable precautions, with regards to ‘due diligence’ are taken, appropriate to the task in hand and that documented evidence supports this. HPLC Technologists must be an example to the production environment on correct procedures being followed.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- To ensure that product ‘on hold’ is identified clearly and corrective procedure is followed with regard to the specific requirements of that item or product.
- To ensure good communications are maintained within the organisation.
- To perform accurately, analysis of the raw materials, product, process, and packaging to determine its suitability for the purpose.
- To ensure that systems and procedures are being followed to attain the Company’s required product quality, safety, and legality from raw material preparation through to finished goods.
- To ensure conformance to both product and process specification is achieved on a continuous basis, and that non-compliance’s are identified.
- To be involved in customer complaint investigation, helping to get to the root cause and preventative action.
- Ensure the appropriate traceability systems are maintained and take part in challenges of the traceability system.
- To liaise with production, warehousing, planning, and ordering personnel to ensure product status is communicated.
- To ensure the technicians on your shift are supported where necessary and appropriate, and to check that weekly schedules and databases are being completed.
- To be familiar with all departments work instruction, procedures, and methods of analysis, particularly HPLC
- To identify failures that do not meet the criteria specified and take suitable corrective action to reduce the risk of failure.
- To provide an auditing function to ensure that all documentation is accurate and complete.
- To take timely and accurate action with regard to product, raw materials and packaging that are indicating an out of specification situation.
- To check the accuracy of the product being produced and verify its suitability for the purpose.
**Skills and Experience Required**:
Essential:
- Strong analytical and mathematics skills
- Willingness to work in noisy environments
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good communication skills
Desirable:
- Experience in a similar role
- Previous experience within a food manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of QA systems
- Food Safety & HACCP
