Quality Assurance Compliance Technologist

**39 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 07:00-16:00 Friday 07:00-15:00**

**Job Purpose**:
To be an example to the production environment on correct procedure to be followed. To effectively co-ordinate the team in the absence of senior members of staff. Ensure compliance to official standards (CLAS, BRC & HACCP) is maintained at all times. Promote a continuous improvement environment with regards to GMP, customer standards compliance, customer complaint reduction and audit readiness on all sites at all times. To ensure that all reasonable precautions with regard to ‘due diligence’ are taken, appropriate to the task in hand and that documented evidence supports this. To provide support for holidays/staff absence cover on both sites, as required. To upkeep spreadsheets and databases relevant to the Quality Department as required.

**Key Responsibilities**
- To provide an effective Quality Assurance service to the business with specific emphasis on creating a ‘right first time’ operating system.
- To ensure that product is manufactured in a hygienic environment, safely and to specification in compliance with Food Legislation, F Duerr & Sons Ltd site codes of practice.
- To ensure that product **‘on hold’** is identified clearly and corrective procedure is followed with regard to the specific requirements of that item or product.
- To ensure customer complaints are investigated and responded to accurately and in a timely manner.
- To deliver through training adequate skilled cover that assures the ability to produce to standard performance ie CCP audit training, customer COP compliance training.
- Through good communications maintain good employment practices relative to legislation, codes of practice, Company Policy and site rules.
- To work with all team members to use their knowledge and skills to identify problems and implement opportunities.
- To create and maintain a continuous improvement environment, through Internal audits, GMP audits etc
- When required provide holiday or sickness cover, to perform accurately, analysis of the product, process and packaging to determine its suitability for the purpose.
- To be aware of the individual products and raw materials requirements and demonstrate the ability to identify problems and report on them.
- To be able to provide accurate and legible documentation to enable the confidence of the team’s due diligence.
- To promote the Health & Safety rules and regulations of the Company. To take care for the Health & Safety of self and others who may be affected by your acts or omissions related to the work place. To co-operate fully with the management of the company with regard to any duty or requirement imposed on them by the relevant Personal Hygiene, CLAS and Health & Safety Legislation.
- To provide a professional customer interface.
- To provide an auditing role to ensure customer compliance and audit readiness at all times, and take part in traceability challenge tests.
- To ensure the upkeep of spreadsheets and databases, including the sampling net portal and due diligence sampling schedules.

**Skills and Experience Required**:
Essential:

- Strong analytical and mathematics skills
- Willingness to work in noisy environments
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- Ability to lead by example
- Previous experience within QA in a food manufacturing environment

Desirable:

- Experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of QA systems
- Food Safety & HACCP
