Personal Assistant

**Job Description - Companion**

A gentleman living in shared accommodation in Gattonside near Melrose is
looking for an additional personal assistant. The gentleman has reduced
mobility and a learning disability. Currently he is looking for a Companion for 3
hours every alternate Thursday.

**The Person
- Sociable with a sense of humour
- A good and patient 1 to 1 communicator
- Be trustworthy, reliable and a good time keeper
- Able to plan activities with and for Client

**Terms (Start on Thursday 17th August then fortnightly thereafter)
**- Alternate Thursdays, 5pm to 8pm or 6pm to 9pm preferred
- Hourly rate is £15.00 per hour***
- 5.6 weeks holiday per year (inclusive of public holidays) pro rata***
- References and PVG are required***

**More Background**

The gentleman’s mobility is compromised - he cannot weight bear and uses a
wheelchair. He has a mobility car which his wheelchair fits in to. He uses
continence aids, though this does not need attention. He has epilepsy
controlled by medication.

**Support Required
**- Client likes to watch TV, especially sport***
- Making a cup of tea/snack
- Support to use his I-pad and access Face time
- Any other activity client enjoys

**Other Info**
- Liaising with family is essential
- The applicant will attend a shadow shift with the regular PA to show

the set - up
