**Job Description - Companion**

A chatty, friendly gentleman living in shared accommodation in Gattonside near Melrose is
looking for a Companion to join his small team of PA’s. The gentleman has reduced mobility
and a learning disability. Currently he is looking for a block of 6 hours on alternate
Monday’s and every Tuesday for 4 hours. Hours can be shared. Ideally applicants must hold
a valid driving license for this post.

**The Person**
- Sociable with a sense of humour
- A good and patient 1 to 1 communicator
- Be trustworthy, reliable and a good time keeper
- Able to plan activities with and for Client

**Hours flexible to suit both Parties.**
- Every alternate Monday for 6 hours
- Every Tuesday for 4 hours
- Hourly rate is £15.00 per hours
- Expenses paid when out with Client
- 5.6 weeks holiday per year (inclusive of public holidays) pro rata
- References and PVG are required

**More Background**

The gentleman’s mobility is compromised - he cannot weight bear and uses a wheelchair.
He has a mobility car which his wheelchair fits in to. He uses continence aids, though this
does not need attention. He has epilepsy controlled by medication.

**Support Required**

support to facetime family etc.
- Activities out and about in the Community
- Safeguard client when out

**Other Info**
- Liaising with family is essential
- The applicant will attend a shadow shift with the regular PA to show the set
- up
- A full driving license is essential for Monday cover, Tuesday can be spent with

client at home
