We are working closely alongside few local authorities in London(Southwark/Tower Hamlets) to assist with the appointment of a **Personal Advisor**, on a **3-month** **contract**, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion.

**Responsibilities**:

- On the basis of assessed strengths, needs and risks, devise, implement and review pathway plans, collaboratively with the young person.
- Manage the caseload as directed, and organise and plan work activities, prioritising tasks and responsibilities.
- Provide written and verbal reports, which are concise, informative and based on analysis of complex evidence, for a range of audiences, including young people, reviews, panels and other formal meetings, and court..
- Work with key professionals from the department and externally to offer advice and implement pathway plans. Contribute to professional discussion and challenge in an appropriate manner.
- Attend and contribute to young person statutory review and any child protection/adult safeguarding meetings, including Court as appropriate.
- Undertake the statutory role of personal advisor as defined in Care Leavers Act 2018, Care Leavers Regulations 2010, The Children Act 1989 Guidance and Regulations, Volume 3: Planning Transition to Adulthood for Care Leavers, and the Children and Families Act 2014.

**Requirements**:

- Knowledge of the health, education, training and work experience needs of young people and how these can be met
- An understanding of the needs of children looked after, and care leavers, including adolescent development, the impact of trauma, transition to independence, environmental factors, and risk and protective factors.
- Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory framework relating to children, young people and families, particularly leaving care regulations.
- Knowledge and understanding of the problems and issues faced by people living in an inner city, multi-racial/cultural community
- Knowledge of roles and responsibilities of key children's agencies
- Experience of working directly with vulnerable children or young people, in a professional or voluntary capacity, implementing effective interventions with successful outcomes.
- Experience of group work with young people and delivery of intervention programmes, with successful outcomes.
- Computer literacy skills at a level to maintain case records within information management systems, and ability to use technology to support online communication.

- managing pathway plans: 2 years (required)
- personal advisor: 2 years (required)
- Local Authority: 1 year (preferred)

**Language**:

- English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (preferred)
- Enhanced DBS (preferred)
- 5 Years Reference with gaps accounted for (required)

Work authorisation:

- United Kingdom (required)
