Manchester, United Kingdom LUC Full time

**Internal Recruiter / Talent Acquisition Coordinator**

**Bristol, London or Manchester**

**Ref 2023-23**

**About the role**:
This is a role that will build on solid recruitment skills to craft a position at the heart of an organisation which is actively addressing the climate and ecological crises, with potential to make a positive impact on diversity and inclusion in this sector.

To support LUC‘s continued growth and success, we are adding an Internal Recruiter / Talent Acquisition Coordinator to our small, but ambitious People and Culture team. The role would suit someone who has worked with a focus on recruitment either in-house or in a recruitment consultancy role.

The focus of the role will be finding fantastic people to fill a wide range of vacancies, from familiar admin roles, to niche technical professionals and Board level appointments. However, alongside this you will have the opportunity to get involved with projects to develop our long-term talent pipeline, engaging with education, careers events and our wider community of stakeholders.

The Internal Recruiter / Talent Acquisition Coordinator will carry out a wide variety of tasks which could include:

- Developing job descriptions and person specifications. Working with line managers to explore and define roles and expectations. Challenging barriers to diversity and inclusion. Questioning assumptions about ways of working, or necessary experience and qualifications.
- Creating recruitment adverts, identifying (in collaboration with hiring teams) the best places to advertise, negotiating rates and placing the ads.
- Liaising with our Marketing colleagues to ensure our opportunities are promoted through all social channels.
- Briefing recruitment consultants, maintaining relationships with our regular recruitment partners as well as identifying new consultancies and negotiating terms.
- Building and maintaining relationships with education partners to support our long term talent pipeline, and to help us deliver social value by providing work experience and internships, participating in careers events and inspiring interest in our professions.

This is also an opportunity to work for a sincere, employee-owned and people-centred company with strong values and a particular focus on addressing the climate emergency.

This role will be based in our London, Bristol or Manchester offices. We operate a hybrid working set up with an expectation of 2-3 days per week in the office. If you are keen to be full time office-based we can discuss this option with you during the recruitment process. There will be occasional travel required to our other office locations.

A full-time role would be based on 37.5 hours Monday to Friday. However, LUC has a strong track record in flexible working and we have been recognised for our flexible working culture, so we are happy to discuss a range of flexible working options for this role including part time hours (minimum 30 hours per week) if desired.

Salary range: £25,000 - £32,000 FTE depending on skills and experience.

**About you**:
**Experience and qualifications**

**Essential**
- Recruitment experience - either in-house or with a recruitment consultancy. This should be at a level where you can advise on most appropriate methods, have the competence to pursue them without much guidance and bring insight and ideas, not just administration.
- Experience of a variety of recruitment channels, including direct advertising or approach, agencies, retained search.
- Writing thoughtful, attractive and inclusive job descriptions and adverts to a high standard. Literacy support can be provided if your content is great.
- Strong administrative and IT skills, with enthusiasm to learn new tools and systems. Competent use of MS Word, Excel, Outlook essential.

**Desirable**
- Involvement or demonstrable passion for creating and organising career opportunities and experiences for those in education or seeking to enter careers in our sector.
- Recruitment-focussed experience of visas and immigration administration desirable but not essential.
- Experience of using an ATS / HR systems and software would be advantageous, but training will be provided anyway.
- Experience of updating website / intranet content e.g. through Wordpress or Sharepoint.
- Knowledge of our sector or similar consultancy business / built environment / professional services would be advantageous, but recruitment expertise and ability to grasp the requirements of a variety of roles is more important.

**Personal Attributes**
- An appreciation of the importance of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and commitment to embed this in all aspects of our work.
- Interest in matters relating to the environment and sharing our Values.
- Tenacious and creative approach to presenting LUC and our vacancies to the market.
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to develop relationships at all levels of the business.
- Appreciation of the confidential and se
