We are constructing a state-of-the-art underground mine to enable the extraction of Polyhalite - a unique multi-nutrient fertiliser - along with the necessary infrastructure both above and below ground that will be required for transport, processing, and distribution.

POLY4 is our flagship multi-nutrient fertiliser product. Made from polyhalite, it contains four of the six macro-nutrients and many micronutrients that are essential to plant growth. It allows farmers to maximise their crop yield, increase quality and improve soil structure with one simple product.

**Job Description**:

- Join us as an Emergency Preparedness & Response Specialist where you will assure that emergency response arrangements are industry leading, robust and effective emergency response and mines rescue arrangements that align with both Anglo American global standards and the Mines Regulations 2014.

**Your duties will include**:

- Create Project Emergency documentation that meets legislation, has a robust review process in place, meets Anglo American Global Standards and assure that it is maintained to remain relevant and current.
- Assure contractors emergency documentation across the project is aligned to Anglo American standards and legislation.
- Carry out line 2 assurance on relevant escape and rescue arrangements across the project, that ensures regulatory (SPI’s) and global standard (Critical Control) compliance.
- Take leading role during HMI interventions, gathering relevant evidence and required information relating to escape and rescue interventions.
- Assure contractors compliance to Mines Rescue Standard for the project.
- Take leading role during line 3 audits.
- Assurance of fire evacuations for Anglo American welfare facilities to ensure they are effective and complaint.
- Provide input into relevant risk assessment, Bow Ties, Hazids and ALARP studies to ensure emergency response provisions are effective.
- Co-ordinate and assure contractors yearly exercises in line with exercise schedule.
- Assure Incident Management procedure and identify improvements.
- Identify and implement improvements across the project in emergency response arrangements.
- Support Emergency Response Manager to ensure emergency response arrangements are industry leading and fully compliant with legislation and standards.

**Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience required**:

- Extensive experience in emergency preparedness and emergency documentation.
- Certificate in Health and Safety Management (preferred).
- Experience in fire safety and evacuation protocols.
- Deep knowledge, understanding and training in incident management.
- Understanding of confined space, gas testing equipment, SCBA use, isolation, hot work procedures, hazardous chemicals, Fire response, vehicle extrication, high angle, and confined space rescue.
- Extensive experience of successfully handling incidents (‘incident command’).
- Demonstrable capability re: problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to build positive working relationships with a diverse workforce.
- Knowledge and understanding of safety and environmental standards relating to legislation.
- A hands-on approach, able to work well under pressure and prioritise workload to meet project needs.
- Ability to collaborate across disciplines/organisations and to communicate clearly.
- Decisive, practical & (on occasion) able to function under extreme pressure.
- Enthusiasm in the working environment and a “can do“ approach in all endeavours.
- Desire to learn and be mentored.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
