**ABOUT THE ROLE**
- We are urgently recruiting for flexible Bank/Relief Support Staff to help us continue to deliver high quality services to vulnerable people in the community. We have a variety of shifts available from mornings, days, nights and weekends in our Croydon Forensic Mental Health Step Down and Housing Service._

Rota: Flexible zero hours contract. This is a 24-hour service so night shifts and day shifts are available.

**ABOUT THE SERVICE**

Penrose Croydon is a 27-bed residential service specialising in forensic mental health, complex needs and dual diagnosis. We offer a form of housing and resettlement that comes with additional help for individuals’ specific needs.

Our forensic mental health step-down services consists of four individual services: Vulnerable House, Women’s Service, Medium Support Service and High Support Service.

**OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

Our Bank Recovery Support Workers provide practical support to service users and be responsible for supporting service users to achieve their goals set in their recovery plan. They work intensively with service users when they are able to work towards recovery and coordinate pathways to more appropriate accommodation.

Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position.

**KEY CRITERIA**

What we would like, but not essential:
**Skills Required**:

- QCF/NVQ qualification or equivalent or will to work towards this
- Willingness to learn about the principles of Key working, support planning, and risk assessment
- Basic Understanding of mental health issues and Care Program Approach.
- Willingness to learn about recovery focused service provision / person centred approach for people with mental issues.
- Understanding of the connection between substance misuse and mental health
- Understanding of the importance to support Service Users with their Medication and to move towards self-medication.
- Willingness to learn about regulatory frameworks for social care.
- Basic report writing,
- Good literacy and ICT skills
