Carers - Community Crisis Team

Blackburn, United Kingdom Choice Care Full time

Are you looking for a new challenge and a return to care work?

Do you have experience of providing care to people and are looking for a way back into social and community care?

We are looking for experienced qualified/trained carers with at least a year’s adult care experience to be part of one of one of our community crisis teams in Blackburn with Darwen.

This is regular, consistent and permanent work with a guaranteed hours contract for fixed shifts of 7am to 1pm and 4pm to 10 pm. 1pm to 4pm is ‘down time’.

You must be over the age of 25 because of the insurance on our vehicles, which you may need to drive.

This is an excellent and rare opportunity to join a response team in which you will use all the skills, training and experience you have gathered working in care. Its also an excellent opportunity to develop those skills with additional training led by our nurse.

Many of our carers have been with us for over 10 years and some over 20 years, one won Carer of the Year at the Great British Care Awards, so we must be doing something right, and our carers have regular work and hours that fits perfectly within their work life balance in the area.

We are a Preferred Provider for Blackburn with Darwen Council, Lancashire County Council, the NHS and Clinical Commissioning Group as well as private clients. We are a family business and have been providing care in the area for 25 years.

We look forwards to meeting you at interview.

We are an equal opportunity employer.

**About The Company**

**Choice Care** was founded in 1999 by husband and wife, Andrew and Fiona Key. With more than 25 years’ experience in the health and social care sector, Andrew and Fiona combined their background in nursing with a passion for delivering high-quality home care services in Blackburn that bridge the gap between traditional home care and nursing.

Whether it’s working directly with private clients and their families or in partnership with social services, Clinical Commissioning Groups, solicitors and health professionals, we strive to provide the best possible care and support for some of the most vulnerable people in our community, tailoring our care services to meet their unique needs.

We work closely with organisations such as East Lancashire Hospice, the Stroke Association, Dementia UK, Parkinson’s UK and the MS Society to share resources and make sure our staff are up to date on the latest skills and training. Our team of dedicated carers are all vetted and trained to gain the qualifications they need to help them carve out a long-term career in care.

**Company Culture**

They must also complete a number of shifts with a supervisor to make sure they’re competent at following care plans and delivering the required level of care.

New recruits will also be working on achieving their diploma/NVQ qualification in care, which takes between 6 and 9 months to complete.

**Join our team of award-winning colleagues**

If you’re passionate about making life better for society’s most vulnerable people we’d love to hear from you.

We believe that being a carer is not just a job, it’s a vocation. As a family-run business, we’re looking to grow the team with like-minded people who share our values.

We love nothing more than seeing the enthusiasm and dedication of a carer turn into a satisfying, lifelong career, whether they’ve come from a background in care or start out with no hands-on experience but an open heart and mind.
