London, United Kingdom Brunswick Group Full time

**Head of Climate Policy & Regulation**

**Climate Operations Team, Brunswick Group - London or Brussels**

**The Opportunity**

As Head of Climate Policy & Regulation you will play a critical role in making sure that Brunswick is kept up to date with all the latest policy and regulatory developments in the climate space, across the globe. Your insights will play a critical role in ensuring that client-facing teams are able to give the most up-to-date and accurate advice to our clients.

You will be part of Brunswick's Climate Operations team and will work closely with Brunswick's Public Affairs and Regulatory Affairs experts in different jurisdictions, helping to distil the fast-emerging climate-themed regulation across the world into insight-led and action-oriented advice for corporate clients. Together with the wider Climate Hub team, you will support programmes such as the Brunswick Climate Academy which is aimed at supporting all Brunswick colleagues in constantly expanding their climate-expertise in areas that are relevant to their own clients. You will also contribute to written advice notes and other types of actionable content for internal and external publication.

Together with the other members of the Climate Operations team, you will coordinate the intelligence from our climate policy/regulation colleagues in different offices. Using this, and your own knowledge, you will provide the firm's global Climate Hub with insights and updates on changes in climate policy and the regulatory landscape that are directly relevant to our clients, including recommendations on how they should engage with their wider stakeholders. Key developments you will monitor and analyse include net-zero transition plan regulations, climate-relevant elements of ESG regulation, emerging anti-greenwashing regulation and guidelines, climate-specific industrial policy trends and sector specific climate-regulation, such as the fast-emerging climate-related regulation of the aviation, shipping and logistics, construction, agricultural, fashion, professional services, cement and steel industry, as well as the financial services sector, including banking.

**Our work in Brunswick's Climate Operations team**

The Climate Operations team is the dedicated team within Brunswick's global Climate Hub to support all our client-facing teams on climate-specific issues. It is part of Brunswick's global ESG & Sustainable Business Practice. We dedicate our full-time to climate issues and play a key role in shaping Brunswick's global climate offering.

Our team delivers cutting-edge work that requires deep climate expertise, networks and credentials, supporting all business activity around climate matters, from identifying and pitching for new business opportunities, to helping existing clients navigate the complex climate-related landscape. We also play a key internal role, coordinating Brunswick's global climate activity and producing intelligence for our colleagues to share with our clients, helping them to inform their business strategies. While our client-facing teams require a growing amount of technical knowledge of these issues and frameworks, their primary focus is on the internal and external communications aspects and opportunities they each involve, including the growing need for high-quality staff engagement in large-scale corporate net-zero transition plans.

As Brunswick is expanding its range of climate-related services, we are seeking three new senior additions to our climate operations team: this role, a Head of Climate Academy, and a Head of Carbon Intelligence. Together, these three roles - which sit in the Climate Operations team - will help to expand and deepen Brunswick's climate-related offer to our clients, as well as to all Brunswick teams globally.

This role can be located in London or Brussels.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Policy & regulatory intelligence**:

- Always be on top of the latest global trends across the climate policy & regulatory spaces and recognise which changes could be of direct consequence for our clients, or could provide them with strategic opportunities
- Be able to condense regulatory & policy documents clearly and concisely, enabling client teams to digest the key developments
- Working with colleagues to input latest intelligence into our global Climate Academy
- Collaborate with team members and other offers and functions across the Brunswick Group, especially those involved in the Climate Operations team
- Utilise a strong existing network to bring in external speakers to help colleagues hear the latest developments
- Regularly review all pertinent internal materials and undertake supplementary research, if required
- Be solution orientated to resolve project issues and know when to seek advice
- Use your past experience, and knowledge of the climate world to stay up to date with best practice, legislation, standards, and trends in priority markets.

**Client handling**:
