Welder/fabricator

We are looking for an experienced **Welder/Fabricator** to join a specialist in sheet metalwork and light fabrication at their site based in **Hyde**.

- £14.00 - £16.00 per hour
- Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm
- Early finish on Fridays
- 28 days holiday

**What will you be doing as a Welder/Fabricator?**
- Performing precision metal fabrication tasks using various techniques such as cutting, bending, shaping, and assembling
- Utilising welding techniques (MIG & TIG) to join metal parts together
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to understand project specifications and accurately translate them into fabricated products
- Operating a variety of fabrication tools and machinery, including shears, press brakes, saws, and welding equipment, whilst adhering to safety protocols
- Performing inspections of fabricated components to ensure they meet quality standards, dimensions, and tolerances before final assembly
- Assembling fabricated parts into finished products, ensuring proper fit, alignment, and functionality
- Performing finishing tasks like grinding, sanding, and polishing to achieve smooth surfaces and desired aesthetics on fabricated components
- Addressing challenges that may arise during fabrication, such as misalignments or material defects, and finding effective solutions to ensure project success
- Working closely with other members of the fabrication team including engineers, designers, and other fabricators, to ensure seamless integration and completion of projects
- Following safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues
- Performing routine maintenance and cleaning of fabrication equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity

**What do you need?**
- MIG & TIG welding experience
- Experience in sheet metal fabrication
- A recognised engineering qualification (desirable)
- An apprenticeship within a relevant field (desirable)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £14.00-£16.00 per hour
