Ocean Infinity is seeking **Trainee AUV Operators** to operate, assist and help maintain AUV / ROV / USV equipment. Assuring data falls within compliance for project and all operational requirements and maintenance for the vehicles are met.

**Description and Main Purpose of the Job**

**What will you do**:

- Develop own learning to operate the assigned system under the supervision of the Supervisor to perform tasks as described in the project task plans or work scope or as coordinated by Offshore Manager;
- Become familiar with the company’s operational procedures relating to the performance of their duties;
- Fill-out and complete the dive, maintenance and other logs required in the fulfilment of the contractual work scope;
- Become familiar with the operation, maintenance, and fault-finding for the assigned system, including the Launch and Recovery System (LARS);
- Responsible for performance of tasks within the preventative maintenance program as assigned and delegated by the Supervisor. The updating of maintenance records and recording of tasks completed falls within this scope;
- Ability to recognize deteriorating environmental conditions and react accordingly under supervision;
- Become familiar with AUV related emergency procedures and will understand his own role and the role of others directly involved in performing emergency recoveries;
- Become familiar with the applicable sections of the company HSE policy;
- Actively participate in all safety related briefing such as Toolbox Talks related to the assigned system or tasks;
- Work in a manner that ensures their own and their co-worker’s safety;
- Responsible to the team ensure that all equipment and safety equipment is fit for purpose prior to use;
- Responsible for maintaining awareness during the performance of his/her duties, recognizing the effect changes may have on safe performance;
- Maintain effective communication and working relationships with other colleagues;
- Ability to complete tasks safely and develop their own understanding of the various systems we operate;
- The trainee operator is expected to become proficient with Kongsberg Hugin system software;
- Support onshore projects from the remote operation centres when required;
- Complete assigned training by the set target date.

**Who you are**:

- Technical or engineering background in either mechanical or electrical systems;
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience in operations with a relevant vehicle or have relevant experience from similar operations that compensates for lack of system specific experience;
- Fluent in both written and spoken English;
- Thoughtful, thorough and conscientious;
- Interested in others and strives to act in the best interests of the team;
- Ability to take ownership and engagement in the work;
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment;
- Strong communication skills;
- Driven, proactive and able to work autonomously with little supervision towards the company's purpose;
- Critical thinking and ability to show initiative;
- Open and receptive to new and different ideas;
- Ability to work well in a team and independently;
- Enthusiastic about protecting people and the planet.
