**£24k - £26k |**Initially 8-5, Monday - Friday, then split between 8-5pm and 7-4pm | Harwich | 22 Days Holiday (plus Bank Holidays) | Private medical insurance | On-site parking | Occasional on-call work, comms supplied |

Our client operate modern and flexible vessels between UK, North Continent, Baltic States and Scandinavia. Based in Harwich, one of the key functions as the UK agent is to supply a road transport function for its customers covering a wide range of cargotypes including containers, semi-trailers, mobile machines, new cars, timber products, paper products and steel utilising a combination of owned and sub-contracted fleet.

They are now on the lookout for a Transport Planner, who will be responsible for planning and routing HGV vehicles and working within a team to manage the operations of the transport office.

Within a friendly, professional team, you will bring enthusiasm, organisation and will be motivated by routine and providing a top-level service.

1-3 years transport planning experience/knowledge (this can be in curtain siders, containers, trailers, low loaders) would be ideal and our client are looking for the right person to join their team. Training given on in-house systems and processes relatedto company.

**Duties (include but are not limited to)**
- Planning and routing of 6+ HGV 1 vehicles
- To work with existing customers through telephone & digital comms and to meet and exceed expectations.
- Working within the team to manage day to day operations of transport office.
- Good communications with drivers and for day-to-day delivery/collection, hours regulations and support.
- To schedule and plan day to day business deliveries and collections
- Understanding and implementation of tachograph and WTD rules and regulations.
- To ensure computer and administration systems are current and up to date

**Person Specification**
- Must hold Full UK Driving License
- Excellent geographical knowledge.
- 1-3 years Transport planning knowledge/experience
- Excellent communicator both for client engagement and colleague working relationships.
- Understanding of HGV driver hours regulations, tachograph rules and working time directives.
- Confident IT skills, Excel/Word and in house software
- Ability to multi-task in a time efficient and professional manner.
- Team player, who gets involved with the day-to-day operational challenges for desired end results.
