**About us**:
Part of the function of the VP Research, Innovation and Global Engagement (RIGE), UCL Innovation & Enterprise has a significant role in supporting and embedding a culture of innovation and enterprise across the whole breadth of the university. We have a variety of skills, capabilities and responsibilities including extra-curricular entrepreneurship; social enterprise; business and innovation partnerships; knowledge exchange policy and funding; support of student businesses;. We are co-located and work closely with subsidiary companies UCLB supporting commercialisation and UCLC supporting consultancy.

There are currently over fifty members of staff in the unit, split between two locations and organised in specialist teams working with students,staff and external innovation partners. These include large and small companies, charities other

We operate in a changing external environment, responding to government policies such as the government’s Innovation Strategy, including the Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF) and Knowledge Exchange Concordat.

UCL is currently undergoing changes of administrative support systems and processes. The job holder is expected to develop competence in these systems and processes in order to support the department in a changing environment.

**About the role**:
The Support Officer will provide delivery support to the department, assisting the Departmental Manager in the day-to-day running of the department operations and in particular providing logístical planning and support for externally facing activitiesThey will act as a first point of contact for the department and provide a first level support in the range of activities and areas detailed below. They will also ensure appropriate departmental local records are kept and maintained.
- The role requires interaction with many people within and external to UCL thus a professional attitude, willingness to help, and ability to remain tactful and assertive are required in order to adequately execute the duties outlined. Duties and responsibilities._
- Act as the first point of contact for the department for administrative and operational queries relating to UCL systems and processes and office administration (currently including and not limited to: MyHR and HR policies, IT systems and access, health and safety, financial enquiries, room bookings, events and functions). will be On site (> 80% of working time).

**Office and space management**:

- Coordinate the onboarding and induction of new staff in collaboration with line managers
- Coordinate the offboarding of leavers in collaboration with line managers
- Act as the first point of contact for queries relating to use of the space and systems

**About you**:
To maintain a good working knowledge of UCL, VP offices and Faculty and Divisional and other relevant policy and procedures, advising colleagues where possible and referring to others where necessary.
- The post holder will carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by their line manager or Director.
