The post holder will provide accurate, robust advice and support to staff and line managers on a range of human resource issues including, but not limited to, individual employee relations issues such as discipline, grievance, poor performance and attendance,workplace dispute management and change management, ensuring that the service provided is consistent, in line with employment legislation and defined quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
- To develop the skills and capacity of managers to empower them to manage people issues effectively and independently as well as ensuring the processes that are aligned to delivery of the service are fit for purpose.
- To undertake a variety of employee relations cases as allocated by the HRBP (Operations)
- To advise managers on employee relations issues in accordance with the Trust's HR policies; such issues may be sensitive or contentious and the jobholder will require influencing and persuasion skills to overcome resistance from employees and managers.
- To assist Managers in the management of attendance to support their achievement of targets for the reduction of sickness absence rates. This will include the provision of statistical information and assisting with sickness absence reviews under the Trust'spolicy.
- In addition, the post holder will advise and support Managers in ill-health retirement or redeployment situations and the management of staff who are classed as disabled under the terms of the Equality Act.
- Makes judgements on a range of HR issues when giving advice/support to staff and managers e.g. absence management, recruitment and selection, special/annual leave, paternity/maternity, capability/performance, terms and conditions of employment
- Ability to analyse and interpret a range of complex qualitative and quantitative data from a wide range of sources e.g. Employment Law, HR Policies and Procedures
- To contribute to the delivery of the service/project and ensure it is seen as part of a whole systems approach
- Responsible for providing and delivering advice/support on a range of HR services e.g. recruitment and selection, HR policy, absence management, performance/capability, employee relations, work force planning, terms and conditions of employment, maternity/paternity,annual/special leave
- May supervise/appraise junior staff

The position is a years contract band 5 or 6 depending on experience
