The Senior Finance Officer ensures all financial information is processed in accordance with procedures through completion of own work in line with monthly budgetary close down timetable.

**Client Details**

Our client operates within the public sector - they are looking for a Senior Finance Officer to join their Nantgarw based finance team on a temporary basis, working on a flexible hybrid model.

**Description**

The key responsibilities of the Senior Finance Officer include but are not limited to:

- Preparing and completing a range of complex financial information to an audit acceptable standard in line with financial timescales ensuring accuracy, relevance and robustness.
- Investigating ad hoc queries and dealing directly with enquiries from clients, providing assistance and advice when required including advising on specific sensitive issues e.g. Charges.
- Taking responsibility for the day to day administration, maintenance and accuracy of elements of the monthly financial reporting process in accordance with Financial Control procedures and Standing Financial Instructions.
- To work as a member of a team responsible for providing financial advice and support to the relevant Services, supporting budgetary control and management processes.
- Proactively undertaking required maintenance to income, expenditure and budgets within the financial ledger.

**Profile**
- Have a degree or AAT qualification
- Have a good knowledge of financial accounting
- be IT literate - especially Excel
- Be able to work as a team as well as independently
- Be organised and motivated
