We're looking for a **Security Support Officer with a minimum of 3 years security experience **to join our team and play a crucial part in ensuring a secure environment for visiting contractors within a secure facility.

Although challenging, this is a fantastic opportunity, **working Monday - Friday at a total of 42.5 hours per week **escorting contractors within a Prison, ensuring their safety whilst they undertake their duties, vigilantly monitoring and taking inventory of their incoming and outgoing items.

**Your responsibilities and how you will make an impact as a Security Support Officer**:

- Carrying out all assigned duties in a safe manner, observing all statutory regulations and any local regulations that may be in force.
- Escorting all contractors safely and securely at all times.
- Monitoring and accounting for all contractor tools and items, ensuring what comes into the secure environment, comes out.
- Vigilantly inspecting and maintaining the safety of the prison.
- Effectively communicating via radio/phone/tablets, escalating any issues that arise.
- Identify problems within own area of remit and take responsibility for finding a solution.
- Processing all relevant paperwork to the relevant people.
- Responsible for the external areas of the work zone, carrying out regular inspections.
- Ensure that all paperwork is handed to relevant people.
- Ensure that the work area is always in a safe & secure manner.
- Shows drive to make a difference to others at work.

- To carry out all duties assigned to him/her in a safe manner, observing all statutory regulations and any local regulations that may be in force.
- Ensure good housekeeping, that the work area is left in a clean, tidy, safe & secure manner at all times
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both in writing and orally (including good telephone manner) and ability to use communication devices i.e., Radios/Phone/tablets.

**Essential Criteria**:

- Minimum 3 years security experience
- Right to work in the UK and have a five-year checkable employment history
- No current criminal convictions
- Full UK driving licence and access to transport
- Current and active SIA licence
- Able and willing to undergo enhanced screening and vetting checks
- Excellent people and communication skills
- Computer literate with high attention to detail
- Ability to work in a team, unsupervised and on own initiative
- Organised and able to work with confidential information
