Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate individual to join our team as a 2nd Cook. As a cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen and delivering high-quality meals to our residents. If you have a passion for food preparation, quality home cook, and creating delicious dishes, we would love to hear from you. we are looking to cover 24 to 30 hours per week, can drop to 20 hours if suits you better, with an understanding of increasing these hours to cover holiday. No split shifts.
**Responsibilities**:
- Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and guidelines
- Ensure all food is prepared in a safe and sanitary manner, following food safety regulations
- Assist in meal planning and preparation, taking into account dietary restrictions and resident preferences
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely and efficient meal service
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed
- Adhere to all health and safety standards
**Requirements**:
- Previous experience in food preparation or cooking is preferred, but a really good home cook used to cooking for larger groups is equally regarded
- Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations or willingness to train
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Flexibility to work day from 8 am to 6 pm, every other weekend, and cover holidays as required
**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
**Salary**: £12.13 per hour
Expected hours: 24 - 30 per week
