Support Worker

As a Support Worker, you will join a friendly team in Birchwood, providing support to Richard* and Simon* who both are in their 50s. As a Support Worker, **you would need to work across 2 services, **each being a home to the two gentlemen.
**Intrigued to know a bit about them?**
Richard is quite in nature, who enjoys listening to music, going to discos and a good meal out. Being able to meet and speak to his girlfriend is very important to him.
The ever so fun Simon, has a wicked sense of humour. He enjoys a good laugh and always has a lovely huge smile. He is unable to communicate verbally and uses sign language.. He does try to rush through his day and can become anxious around this which is where the staff who support him play a very important role in supporting him to deal with these anxieties and look for ways to redirect him
Could you support them to live lives that make sense to them?
**What will you be doing?**
You will manage staff rotas and mentor, train and coach your team. Working with the Manager you will monitor and control expenditure to ensure there are robust budget controls in place. You will ensure compliance with regulatory standards and our own processes and procedures.
**You would be expected to work 22.5 hours in one service and 15 hours in the other service, supporting both teams to achieve positive outcomes for the people we support.**
**You must be a driver so that you could commute between the 2 services and attend trainings**

**About you**
You'll be someone who can see the bigger picture and have the visionary skill to be able to help develop the service further.
You must have supervisory experience within the social care sector, understanding the intricacies and challenges involved.
You will need to be flexible and organised, with a positive approach. Attention to detail, and good Microsoft Word and Excel skills would also be beneficial.
