Elevation Accountancy & Finance are currently recruiting for an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk on behalf of a well-established business based in Hessle.
You will be working as part of a successful and friendly finance team, processing a high volume of invoices.
Duties of the Purchase Ledger Clerk will include:

- Accounts Payable control (invoice coding & posting, supplier statements, resolving queries)
- Process supplier invoices on a timely and accurate basis
- Analyse and understand balances on supplier accounts
- Reconcile each supplier's statement of account Monthly/Quarterly
- Pro-actively resolve debit balances on the purchase ledger, maintaining control over the quality of the purchase ledger and allocating payments timely in the correct period
- Assist with analysis requests, such as for year-end audit and tax computations
- Assisting in the month end process as required, including prepayments/accruals, journal posting
- Cover bank postings when Cashier is on holiday
- Set up International Payments in banking software for payment & process daily payment runs
- Credit card receipt/expenses analysis & posting in SAP
- Assist with adhoc tasks within the department
- Help Financial Controller & Financial Accountant with VAT returns
- Previous experience in a similar role ideally Minimum 3 years previous Accounts Payable Experience, dealing with supplier issues; a full understanding of Purchase Ledger
- Good Excel skills
- SAP knowledge (preferred but not essential)
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work on own initiative, or as part of a team
- Ability to be flexible and help in all areas within the team
- Excellent communication skills
- Educated to GCSE level and above
- Good communication skills

- Strong interpersonal skills
- Motivated, self-reliant and self-confident
