**PURPOSE OF THE ROLE**
We are looking for an environmentally driven, organised and proactive individual to take forward our new Remake Food for Good Project. The role will focus on supporting the successful relocation of Remake’s refill shop, Remake Refills, to Crieff town centre and the introduction of additional services to promote sustainable food choices within Strathearn. Remake Refills was launched in November 2022 and is currently situated in our Reuse Hub, where it operates reduced retail hours of Thu, Fri and Sat. Due to limited opening times and low visibility, Remake Refills has not proved financially sustainable within its current location and its reduced space has also limited opportunities to provide environmental education in support of Remake’s charitable objectives.
We now have ambitious plans to redefine this project as ‘Remake Food for Good’ with enhanced emphasis on environmental education and sustainable food choices. By supporting its relocation, the post holder will help to improve community engagement with the project; enabling our local community to make impactful changes to their everyday shopping habits, increasing awareness of local and sustainable food choices, providing greater access to community-based climate support and improving the financial sustainability of this community service.
**About Remake Scotland**
Remake Scotland is a company limited by guarantee and registered charity formed in 2011. Our vision is for environmentally sustainable living to be accessible to everyone in our community and embedded in everyday habits and choices.
We uphold this vision by supporting, supplying, educating and inspiring sustainable living through a variety of community services. Our Reuse Hub based at Crieff Visitor Centre offers an Aladdin’s cave of second-hand goods, including craft supplies, tools, têxtiles, furniture, homeware, and vintage items. It also houses our community tool library, our reuse and repair workshops and Remake Refills. We also deliver off-site education events to the local community, run a monthly climate café, deliver a monthly repair café and run a bike reuse project.
Remake is supported by volunteers from a variety of ages, abilities, and backgrounds. We focus on promoting intergenerational community building and skills sharing.
