**Responsibilities**:
At TTS Group, we are actively developing a diverse range of leading and innovative products for the education market, including toys, furniture, outdoor play and storage equipment as well as ICT and many other educational resources.
The Product Design apprentice position is a great role for a passionate design enthusiast looking to develop their creative and design engineering skills. With support from the design team, you will turn conceptual ideas into reality, working closely with the Innovations team to bring new product to life.
The role of the designer can cover every aspect of a design from early concept sketches through to the final product including its packaging, allowing you to build on several design skills through project work.
This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and confident individual looking to start their career in Product Design. You will be able to demonstrate how your education or previous design experience would give you the ability to develop new products from start to finish. You will be keen to learn and have excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills.

**Key responsibilities**:
- Work closely with the NPD team to understand the requirements and background of new concepts.
- Use SolidWorks to create 3D CAD models and 2D technical drawings of new designs.
- Use Keyshot to create 3D rendered images that accurately represent the design.
- Create prototypes to validate designs, using the 3D printer where suitable.
- Develop understanding of the educational market and the safety requirements involved.
- Support on all aspects of design throughout project development, including reviewing CAD, testing samples, and updating designs as required.
- Use the adobe creative suite to design packaging and instruction manuals for new products or updating previous versions to be compliant with new changes.
- Attend regular project and team meetings to keep all relevant team members and stakeholders updated with design information.

**Skills and requirements**:
- A solid educational background, including technical and creative courses at A-level or equivalent.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - credible, open, and approachable, with the ability to adjust your manner to suit your audience.
- Ability to communicate design concepts through sketches or models.
- Awareness of 3D and 2D CAD, any prior experience will be beneficial.
- Strong organisational skills to manage design revisions and keep project folders well organised.
- Willingness to learn on the job and to develop design skills through project work and self-training.
