We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a passion for delivery to join our People, Safety and Culture Team in the role of Head of Culture, Engagement & Comms - a crucial role that will form part of the People, Safety and Culture leadership team and who will drive, motivate, support and inspire our workforce - designing and implementing a compelling engagement and communication vision and strategy.
The Head of Culture, Engagement & Comms will be accountable for day-to-day communications across the business and developing an engagement strategy for all our colleagues - from a disparate driver population to site specific warehouse operatives and head office and leadership employees - ensuring we have the right channels and events in place to encourage a two-way conversation and an open and honest dialog to promote employee voice.

**The role details**:
**Salary**: £100,000 to £130,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours Per Week
Working pattern: Monday to Friday
Location: Home-based with some travel
**What you’ll do**:
- Shape the Culture, Engagement and Communications vision and strategy which positions Gist as a great place to work, while ensuring oversight of operational execution aligned to the functional and business strategy
- Play an active leadership role in the People, Safety & Culture team, and the Gist Wider Leadership Team Cultivating strong relationships and proving strategic communications and counsel to senior leaders and colleagues, building trust and credibility across the organisation, and helping to grow stakeholders' communications skills
- Leverage data and insight to ensure a deep understanding of the views of our colleagues, and shape solutions to ensure Gist is a great place to work. Ensure we have an engaged and motivated workforce which will ensure we have the most effective organisation to deliver the business strategy & customer outcomes
- Play an active role within the People, Safety & Culture team to develop and launch our colleague proposition, aligned to the future world of work
**Who you are**:
- A postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline and / or equivalent expertise gained through experience, and a successful track record, in leading comparable Engagement, Culture and internal Communications teams
- Significant experience in driving complex organisation and cultural transformation, with an ability to demonstrate the correlation between performance, behaviours and organisational culture
- Strong people leader with the ability to develop and motivate a team to deliver against the vision and deliver outcomes against multiple deadlines, amending plans in response to changing circumstances
- Proven ability to engage effectively with a broad range of stakeholders, acting as a trusted expert to senior leaders, and experience in partnering within a matrix organisation
- Adaptable to a dynamic and fast-paced environment, thriving in conditions of change
- Skilled in event design, facilitation, and management, bringing valuable experience to the table
- Exceptional communication skills, encompassing outstanding written, editing, oral, and presentation abilities
- Proficient in MS Office products and communication tools like SharePoint and design software
- Hands-on experience in intranets, collaboration tools, and employee communication apps
- Collaborative mindset, enthusiastic about supporting the broader business objectives
- Capable of contributing positively and diplomatically challenging viewpoints, adept at engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders
