Legal Intern

JOB PURPOSE
The role sits within Legal Operations which is responsible for handling claims made on behalf of the various consumer brands as well as defending claims made against them.
You would be working across a number of our teams within Legal Operations supporting the receipt and set up of new instructions, matter progression and insights for improvement which includes review of opportunities for automation and AI. You will experience a number of “seats” during the year which will enable you to support the whole of Legal operations and offer a broad range of learning experiences to you.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Develop an understanding of all workstreams: Insurance, Debt, Network Damage, Rights of Access, Real Estate and Consumer Disputes
- Analyse new claim instructions data to determine recovery prospects or to sign post investigations
- Work with legal team to progress claims
- Ensure compliant claims handling in line with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Support research projects undertaking legal research using specialized data sources
- Design and test various automation solutions with various business partners across Legal Operations and the wider Shared Service Centre
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
PREFERRED EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:
- Organised with a keen eye for detail
- Experience with analyzing and presenting data
- Good communicator who is willing to ask lots of questions
- Willingness to learn
- Experience with MS Office, including Excel

Management/ Supervision
- Justine Gould will be the overall Senior Manager, with day to day supervision being provided by the relevant business area Team Managers.
