Bagging Operative

**Purpose**

To actively engage in the physical logistics of moving, storing and packaging (Bagging) of bulk cargo, to also include vessel and terminal cargo handling as required.

**Accountabilities**
- Operate material handling equipment: including vessel loading/discharging operations; cargo storage; warehouse duties; and re-delivery of cargo to transport
- Ensure efficient stockpiling, storage and redelivery of bulk cargo at storage sites, ensuring the best use of space
- Report any faults, breakdowns and damages to Operations Supervisor, ensuring they are appropriately recorded
- Complete paperwork associated with various tasks to monitor activities
- Ensure work completed is compliant with Health and Safety Legislation and adhere to Risk Assessments / SSOW / ABP Health & Safety Policy
- Carry out operations in line with relevant regulations and accreditation schemes, including COMAH, and ensure product familiarisation (i.e. handling of Ammonium Nitrate)
- To build good working relationships with customers, employees and lorry drivers
- Undertake other duties as may be reasonably required.

**Competencies, Skills, Experiences & Qualifications**

**Essential**
- Good level of understanding of HSES Legislation and Port Security requirements
- To maintain flexibility and be self-motivated at all times
- Full UK Driving Licence

**Ideal**
- Qualified to operate forklift trucks and other equipment
- To have undertaken Fertiliser Handling Training (COMAH/FIAS)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £30,005.00 per year

- Yearly bonus
