**About the role**

Our wonderful client school near the centre of Bury are looking for a Year 5/6 Teacher to join the USK2 team. This role is set to begin on the 4th January and will be ongoing until further notice.

The class is in a cohort of 3 mixed Year 5/6 classes, and you will be working alongside two other teachers. The class has 30 pupils with a small percentage of SEN pupils, who are supported by 1:1 teaching assistants. You will also have a full-time teachingassistant to support learning within the classroom.

This school has recently been rated 'Good' by Ofsted and they have had significant improvement in results over the past several years. Leadership at the school have worked hard to support teaching and support staff to improve teaching and learning acrossthe school. The behaviour across the school is good, and the staff follow a positive behaviour policy to create an environment which encourages and reinforces good behaviour and fosters positive attitudes.

**About the role**
- Plan and deliver, with regard for the school's aims, own policies and schemes of work, the teaching programme for all children within the class, using clear differentiation.
- Provide clear structures for lessons and for sequences of lessons, which maintain pace, motivation and challenge.
- Make effective use of assessment information on pupils' attainment and progress and in planning future lessons.
- Ensure effective teaching of whole classes, groups, and individuals, establishing high expectations of behaviour and attainment, so that teaching objectives are met.
- Use a variety of teaching and learning styles to keep all pupils engaged.
- Evaluate your own teaching critically to improve effectiveness.
- Assess and record each pupil's progress systematically with reference to the school's current practice, including the social progress of each child and use the results to inform planning.
- Mark and monitor class work and homework, providing constructive feedback and setting targets for future progress.
- Set regular, ambitious yet achievable targets for the children. Provide reports on individual progress to the Headteacher and parents as required.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with professional colleagues and parents.
- Safeguard the health and safety of all children.
- Be supportive of the delivery of Extra -curricular across the school

**Essential requirements**
- Recent experience teaching in KS2
- Qualified Teacher Status (or equivalent)
- Two professional references to cover recent teaching experience
- Full CV history including any gaps explained
- DBS checks and overseas police checks (if applicable)
