Seeking 1x Part Time Practitioner to work across Borrowfield OOSC and/or Abbey View OOSC.

Monday to Friday, Term Time
- 3pm to 6pm, after school, with various holiday club hours offered between 8am and 6pm out-with term time (to be arranged as and when)_._

A fantastic opportunity to join a small but dedicated team looking after Primary school aged children. You may help collect children from surrounding schools after the school day by attending with children on a school bus, a company car, taxi or via foot if required. You will organise, supervise and engage in learning and play experiences with our children. Organise healthy snacks and liaise with parents and carers daily. You will take part in quality assurance and evaluation. You will partake in various admin duties relating to membership such as invoicing parents and keeping registration documents up-to-date. Employees will work within the group’s vision and aims and will adhere to local, national and group policies, alongside SSSC code of practice, ensuring a high quality of service for every child and family. - Practitioners will lead the room in the Managers absence and therefore, good leadership skills are essential.

**Section 1. Responsible for children and the play provision.**
- Collect children from school or class room as instructed by senior staff members
- Set up and tidy away a range of play resources throughout the play session to meet all children’s needs
- Develop a trusting relationship with the children and their families, ensuring that children’s rights are protected at all times.
- Support the provision of service to promote each child’s all-round well being and development.
- Supervise children within the playroom at all times through observation or positive engagement.
- Contribute to all planning, observation and recording processes.
- Assist children with toilet awareness and changing procedures.
- Assist children at snack times, encouraging good hand washing and hygiene at all times.
- Work in accordance with all Care Inspectorate standards and Government and Local Authority expectations.

**Section 2. Working relationships with adults.**
- Lead the room in the managers absence
- Be a role model for other staff members-mentoring where required
- Build relationships with each child, their family and with colleagues
- Support relationships with relevant agencies and provide information as required
- complete admin duties and record communication where necessary

**Section 3. Administration.**
- To carry out any administrative tasks as requested by senior staff.
- Complete accident and incident records.

**Section 4. Monitoring and Evaluation.**
- Support the delivery of the groups Improvement plan.
- Support and contribute to the quality assurance process.
- Be prepared to try out new ideas and approaches in order to develop own practice.
- Keep a profile of CPD activities.
- Update skills and knowledge through regular participation in training and professional development.
- Self evaluate areas of your own work in order to develop practice.

**Section 5 Health and Safety**
- Carry out risk assessment as required and record daily.
- Carry out fire drills as required.
- Complete first aid duties where required.
- Ensure that resources are in good order and clean.
- Ensure the safety of children and staff are met at all times by attending relevant child protection and health and safety training regularly and ensuring knowledge is always up to date.
- Record and report all concerns to senior staff immediately.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 15 per week

**Salary**: £7.50-£11.50 per hour
