**The Role**
Our client, a prestigious School, is seeking a qualified finance professional (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) to operate as a business partner. Initially this role will report to the Financial Controller, but it is envisaged this will change in the short to medium term and so a flexible approach is required. Ultimately, this role will have a bias towards commercial activities and financial IT systems implementation. **Our client**
One of the leading UK independent schools for boys and girls aged 2-18 years, and is based in Street, just two miles from the vibrant town of Glastonbury, and in the beautiful county of Somerset. It is not like other schools and never has been. Founded in 1935, the schools vision is to be the world leader for the development of children. There are nearly 1300 students at the senior school (year 9 to U6) and a further 450 students at the neighbouring Prep School.

Although essentially a rural British school, 30 per cent of the students are international and come from more than 70 countries. The size brings great opportunity and the facilities are unmatched in the UK: an Olympic-sized swimming pool, golf courses, indoor centres for tennis, golf and cricket and an equestrian centre; concert hall, recording studio, theatre, art gallery, hi-tech Science block and outstanding teaching facilities; and high-quality boarding accommodation.

**Specifics**
The role will initially focus on some of the following key areas:

- Management information reporting including profitability, cashflow and other key performance indicators (“KPIs”)
- Business plans, financial reviews and ad-hoc reports as required by the Financial Controller and Director of Enterprises (our trading entity)
- Assist in the migration and implementation of new financial reporting systems; probably including working on a new e-commerce platform
- “Day to day” financial management of our Enterprises division’s financial reporting, including
- Budget setting and controls
- Nominal ledger postings
- Accounts receivable
- Purchase order process
- Employment reporting
- Commercial contracts
- VAT and regulatory reporting
- Responsibility for preparation of annual financial statements for a number of our entities, which will require working with auditors and other professional advisors

**Requirements**:
Experience of producing statutory and management accounts, financial analysis and managing internal and external audits is essential. Experience of commercial contracts and implementing financial systems would be beneficial.

This is a full-time role working all-year round and will be based in the Senior School in Street (please note this is an office based role for 5 days per week). Hours of work will vary between 8.30am-4pm and 10am-5.30pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. In return you will receive a salary of £35,000 - £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience) generous holiday entitlement, freshly prepared lunches for just £10 per month, access to the school facilities and discounts/cashback on high street shops and restaurants through the school’s Employee Assistance Programme.
