**About Facilities Management in HSE**

HSE’s estate portfolio is extensive, with 25 offices in a England, Scotland and Wales and a Science and Research Centre near Buxton, England. The Science and Research Centre is truly unique and set in 550 acres of the Derbyshire Peak District, supporting world leading science conducted in 41 experimental facilities on the site. Within the estate portfolio our offices range in size from supporting a half a dozen people to over 3000 people in our head office in Bootle, Merseyside. Over the last 7 years we have begun transforming our offices, adopting modern open plan workspaces designed to support different styles of working from quiet and contemplative, to collaborative and innovative, to creative and energetic, and finally to structured and logical. We are constantly reviewing how to get the most out of our estate, making offices sustainable and designed to be as accessible as possible. Our estate transformation programme continues to focus on improving the working environment for our colleagues.

**Job description**:
As the Head of Facilities Management, you will:

- Lead and manage the Facilities Management team delivering services across the whole of the HSE office estate and to the benefit of all staff working at home.
- Develop, publish, establish and deliver the HSE Office Estate Strategy and Strategic Asset Management Plan to support business objectives and be the SRO for all office projects.
- Develop, publish and establish the HSE Facilities Management Services catalogue, processes, procedures and standards for the delivery of consistent FM services.
- Lead, manage and deliver the effective physical security of HSE offices, ensuring the safety of staff and protection of evidence and HSE valuable items.
- Manage and account for the £25 million FM annual budget and develop the forecast for next annual budget.
- Manage and account for the FM capital investment programme, establishing the capital item replacement cycle and ensuring new replacement services are procured in a timely manner.
- Develop options for Value for Money (VFM) savings, delivering those with greatest benefit and account for those savings at the end of the year.
- Lead the HSE’s environmental and sustainability initiatives, establishing a culture change that embraces and promotes energy and waste efficiency and delivers savings.
- Manage the use and utility of the space within HSE Offices, ensuring that it is available and appropriate for staff use.
- Establish the HSE brand guidance for décor and office facilities, aligned to corporate engagement and employee value proposition requirements, ensuring that all staff feel that they belong to the One HSE family
- Manage the incident and problem management of FM services across all FM out-sourced contracts and the office estate, ensuring a consistent delivery and timely return of services.
- Develop quality metrics for FM services and report monthly and quarterly that services have been delivered successfully.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers, using stakeholder feedback to deliver effective change to and on behalf of the business, ensuring the business area is ready to receive and accept the project changes.
